Congratulations to Goodthings! Voted October's Player of the Month.

Goodthings joined our guild 6 months ago and has been an active contributing member. He is a nice person in general and has a wealth of knowledge that he shares willingly with all that ask (and maybe a few that don’t ask). He frequently leads raids and initiates guild groups for quests. He has a strong and confident personality that makes him a good leader. He never leaves a man behind and when things go awry or someone is in digital mortal peril he is quick to the rescue. In recognition of his leadership skills in the guild he was promoted to Officer 3 months ago. Let’s all put or hands together and congratulate Goodthings!

A Creepy Player of the Month!

Congratulations to Creepir! Voted September's Player of the Month.

8 things we can say about Creeps affirmation of POTM

1) Is he really creepy? yes... but we love him all the same.
2) One of the more active officers in leading guild raids, Creepir has single-handedly brought the Abbot back from the ... dead? with regular biweekly runs of the raid on the calendar.
3) He adds great fun to any quest or raid that he's in and is a terrific sport with the tremendous amount of abuse he both gives and receives (not that it isn't deserved).
4) He makes himself accessible to anyone and is always willing to bring a number of solid toons to fit the needs of any quest.
5) He is generous with his time and knowledge in the aid of his guildies.
6) He is gracious with his approach to the game and his attitude toward others.
7) Congrats to you...the recognition is well-deserved and there's just not enough we could say about him (but it's probably been too much already)!

July's Player of the Month

Congratulations to Heltzer! Voted July's Player of the Month.

One of our premier officers, Heltzer can be found leading raids or leveling characters with other guildies. A real boy scout, he is always helpful, friendly, courteous, and kind. I am not so sure about obedient (you would have to ask his wife) but he is cheerful and maybe even thrifty (kinda hard to gauge that one in game). At one time we thought that there would only ever be one Heltzer but over time he has really branched out and comes in many different flavors... Hurray for Heltzer! Well deserved recognition from your fellow guildies!

The Helpers Guild Turns Level 80

The Helpers Guild's New Airship

The Helpers Guild made level 80!

    Many were aware of the impending milestone and we had a final push for renown. Some were in epics gathering renown and others joined a push for 80 semi-speed shroud. It was fun to hear people calling it out "got 4k to go", "Aww man got a Heroic Deeds" or "Woot! Legendary Victory!".
    Our fearless leader was waiting in the showroom and moments after we achieved level 80 we got the Windspyre Gryphon! Much (very fun) chaos ensued as those on the airship had it disappear from under them!
    Next we started the move in process and slowly we began to figure out the placement of the buffs about the huge new ship. Many ideas were tested and it seems that we have arrived at the new mostly optimal placement. Now each of us has to figure out how best to run through the huge ship!

Congratulations to the guild, it took a team effort to get there and everyone was up for the task!

June Player of the Month!

Congratulations to Slashnit! Voted June's Player of the Month.

You will typically find Slashnit running raids or groups and he usually has several raids scheduled on the calendar. Whether in game or on the forums he usually has good solid advice and educated opinions. He is also already an officer in recognition of his selfless service for the guild.

A few answers about the Helpers Guild

We had a forum post with someone inquiring about the guild. It brought up some good questions and responses. Here a few of the answers...

What kind of guild are you?
We went through a period of unchecked growth and improper recruiting and reached a size of almost 400 accounts. Many of the members at that time were people we had little to no clue about. Leadership decided we need to stop and reverse the trend and that in order to survive and prosper as a guild, we needed some rules and organization. Today we stand at about 150 accounts. Most of us know each other, at least those in similar timezones, and we are very particular about recruiting. In essence we have moved from a large casual guild to a smaller guild focused on end game raids and epics.

Do you invite people to the guild airship?
Non-guided people are allowed on the ship. Friends and party mates are always welcome as long as they are escorted. In other words if you are in a group with a Helper or you are good friends with one, welcome aboard! (provided said friend gives you an invite) What we don't tolerate is random tells to get on the ship.

What is this Teamspeak and how do you use it?
Yes we use an out of game internet voice chat network, www.Teamspeak.com to be specific. It is not required of the general populace of the guild, but officers are required to be able to use it. It makes meetings easier and is a fun way to stay connected even if you are in different parties or raids.
